paris street style report
i just got back from paris and feel the need to report on parisian street style because it was just so damn inspiring-who wouldn’t want to learn from the coolest and chicest people on earth…
the young crowd: these individuals seem to work for a fashion house or in retail because they are wearing the latest and greatest. if not that, they are simply in possession of luxury and the street is their runway. designer crocs and platform slides (balenciaga, givenchy, simon rocha), as well as birkenstock bostons are widespread and worn by many. they do such a great job staying neutral and monochromatic for the most part yet making a statement with their vintage, outerwear, footwear, and accessories. they’re effortlessly cool and have all the confidence to rock anything out of the ordinary.
the mature crowd: they embody the quintessential parisian chic style we know and love (think-jeanne damas & jane birkin). well-made blazers, suede jackets, straight leg jeans, flats and quirky accessories that add interest and character ie. Call it by your name bandana tote bags. they are proper, elegant and never dressed down because there is always one piece that pulls the look together ie. denim or jacket.
people watching in paris is a pleasure and always leaves me awe-struck. there’s something to learn from each culture and country but parisians in particular lead the way when in comes to fashion-there is no doubt about it. my latest visit solidified that. How they dress and show up in this world, their choices and way of life is something i will forever admire.
since i love shoes so much, i’ve decided to hone into the category and emphasize all the trending footwear i’ve seen this past week as well as some personal favorites. You’re welcome :)
